The ghost fishing twine is a twine made of organic materials. Dimensioned so that it will rot if being exposed of salt water for more then six months, this twine could mean life or death for individuals entering a lost creel. The ghost fishing twine is the link between the parlour hatch hook and the polyethylene twine that is attached to the creels frame. When rotten the twine breaks and the hook will fall off which means that the creel is now open.
It is recommended to switch the twine every year so that it does not unintentionally rot when fishing.
